What i do

My Services

Rescuing

Knowing how to effectively rescue wildlife is essential for their survival and overall well-being. Wildlife rescue involves more than just good intentions; it requires specialised knowledge and skills to ensure that animals are handled correctly and receive the care they need. Understanding the appropriate methods for capturing, transporting, and treating injured or orphaned wildlife can make a significant difference in their chances of recovery and return to the wild. By educating ourselves about wildlife rescue procedures and protocols, we can provide the necessary support to help these animals overcome the challenges they face.

caring

Caring for wildlife involves a blend of compassion and practical skills to ensure their survival and well-being. It starts with understanding each species’ specific needs, including diet, habitat, and behavior. Providing proper nutrition and a safe, stress-free environment supports their health and natural behaviors. Regular health assessments and timely medical care address injuries or illnesses, while careful handling minimizes stress. Education in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation practices is crucial for effective care. By combining these efforts with a genuine commitment to their welfare, we contribute to the conservation of wildlife and the health of ecosystems.

providing a safe soft release

Andara wildlife sanctuary is tucked away in the remote wilderness of Tasmania, just perfect for the release of all species of wildlife that come for a safe soft release.

The soft release process is designed to minimise stress and support each animal’s successful reintegration into the wild.

My  commitment to a soft release process reflects my broader mission to support and sustain wildlife populations while promoting the health and balance of ecosystems.

reassurance & support after release

After soft releasing wildlife, providing reassurance and ongoing support is crucial for their successful adaptation to the wild. This involves monitoring their progress to ensure they are acclimating well and addressing any issues that arise. Support may include additional food supplies or shelter if needed, as well as intervention if they show signs of distress or difficulty. Maintaining a balance between allowing natural independence and offering necessary assistance helps them build confidence and thrive. By staying attentive and responsive, we enhance their chances of a smooth transition and long-term success in their natural habitat.

What Drives me

My Mission

My life mission is to offer unwavering care and compassion to wildlife, dedicating myself to their well-being and conservation. I am committed to protecting and nurturing these amazing animals, ensuring they have the support and safe environments needed for their care, soft release and reassurance after. Every action I take is driven by a deep respect for nature and a belief in the intrinsic value of each animal. Through education, rehabilitation, and advocacy, I strive to make a positive impact, fostering a harmonious balance between wildlife and their habitats. My mission is to be a voice for those who cannot speak, guiding them toward a future where they can thrive and flourish.

My Vision

The repopulation of the Forester Kangaroo is an overlooked and under supported area of wildlife conservation that is seeing a decline in the numbers of wild populations in Tasmania and has been for some time.
With this in mind it is my mission and vision to continue supporting the Forester Kangaroo’s sustainability into the future!
Andara wildlife sanctuary has been actively caring for and starting new mobs of the Forester kangaroo at Andara Wildlife Sanctuary since 2014!

Safe and Free.
